Wing joins Smile Cambodia to support the patients with Facial Deformities

Wing will help Smile Cambodia to identify and reach out to patients with cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities, so that we can provide them with free surgeries.

Phnom Penh, 27 JUNE 2020—Wing (Cambodia) Limited Specialised Bank and Smile Cambodia sign off an agreement as a partner to promote the free operation to Cambodian patients with cleft lip and palate, and other facial deformities nationwide.

Under this agreement, Wing will assists Smile Cambodia to promote the free surgical operations to Cambodians with cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities through a wide range of communication platforms of Wing including social media platform, website, wing money app, and kiosks of Wing Cash Xpress.

“Mouth is a significant part of the human body. However, some children suffer from cleft lip leading to feeding, communication and confidence issues,” said Manu Rajan, CEO of Wing. “We feel their pain and aim to improve the quality of life of people and young Cambodians living with cleft lip and cleft palate.”

We will organize surgical operations in various provinces to treat and give them a better future.

We understand that patients with cleft lip are hesitant to socialize causing them numerous psychological and personality issues. Smile Cambodia is firmly committed to continue the noble cause of providing free surgical operations to Cambodian patients with cleft lip and palate, and other facial deformities.

Over the last 5 years, Smile Cambodia has provided free surgeries to about 1,400 patients with support from Smile Asia, Rotary Club of LIkas Bay, Rotary Club of Lu Chou & I-LAN, Taiwan, Face to Face, USA, MdM, Australia, etc. We have more than 50 local volunteers including local surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, etc, who are well experienced and have supported Smile Cambodia ‘s surgical operations. From now on, close to 8,000 of Wing Cash Xpress outlets across the kingdom will join this effort to brighten the lives of children in Cambodia.
