May 3, 2019

PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA, MAY 2, 2019— Mobile Digital International Money Transfers to more than 200 countries have been introduced for the first time for millions Wing Money App customers in Cambodia, thanks to a collaboration between Western Union, a leader in cross-border, cross-currency money movement and Wing (Cambodia) Limited Specialised Bank, Cambodia’s leading mobile banking services provider.

With a few clicks on their Wing Money App, customers can now send Western Union money transfers to their family and loved ones, real-time, 24/7, to more than 200 countries and territories.

The fingertip convenience is available to all Wing Money App customers whether they are international or domestic expatriates or workers. Customers have the choice to use direct transfers from their Cambodia enabled bank accounts or choose cash wallet natively within the app – which can be cashed in at over 6,000 Wing agents.

“Our platform enables us to power cross-border money movement solutions on a global scale. With our deep financial services expertise and technology to connect the digital and physical worlds of money, we are well-positioned to empower customers by providing solutions that meet their financial needs,” said Sohini Rajola, Regional Vice President, South Asia and Indo-China.

“Remittance is an important source of income for many families – this holds true both for families living here in Cambodia, and for migrants and foreign workers’ families living abroad. Connecting customers with their families is key and providing the utmost convenience in doing so is pivotal. With an increase in mobile popularity and broadband penetration, we are excited to extend our service with Wing to provide customers with digital money transfer options to move money in the ways that they want to, and play a critical role in their lives and in the global economy,” added Rajola.

“Last year, we announced our collaboration with Western Union that enabled customers in Cambodia to receive money at Western Union service enabled Wing agent locations as part of our campaign Wing2World. The service availability is now extended to 1000 agents nationwide. Today, with the activation of Western Union service on our Wing Money App, we are delighted to take our collaboration to the next level, enabling migrants, the unbanked, under banked Cambodians and foreign workers to conveniently transfer money real-time, 24/7, to their families and dependents back home and globally,” said Jojo Malolos, Wing Chief Executive Officer.

“Our commitment to customers is unwavering, and we won’t stop here. We plan to continue to roll out and further extend our capabilities to provide convenient experiences for customers.” added Malolos.

In addition to local and international money transfer services, customers can process various transactions on the Wing Money app, ranging from phone top-up, bill payment, online and QR payment, and many others.
